Bathroom renovations are challenging, with multiple projects, subcontractors, and client communications to manage. Relying on spreadsheets and emails often led to delays and budget issues. I developed a custom construction management solution that streamlined operations for a contractor, improving efficiency and project coordination.

Bathroom renovations are inherently complex projects. Coordinating various specialized trades (plumbers, tilers, electricians, etc.), ensuring timely material deliveries, accommodating frequent design changes, and maintaining seamless communication with homeowners can easily become overwhelming. Efficiently managing these moving parts requires a centralized system that streamlines processes and provides greater project oversight.
The Solution:
To address these challenges, our team of five developers collaborated to build a comprehensive web-based construction management system specifically tailored for bathroom renovations. This application acts as a unified platform to manage every phase of a project, from the initial design concepts to the final handover.

Integrated Scheduling: The system features an interactive Gantt chart that allows managers to schedule tasks, assign subcontractors, and track progress. To further enhance scheduling, we integrated Google Calendar to synchronize work schedules and holidays between the system and workers' mobile apps, ensuring everyone is always on the same page.

Streamlined Material Management: The application integrates with the Xero API to facilitate seamless ordering, tracking, and management of materials. This eliminates manual data entry and reduces the risk of errors, ensuring projects stay on budget and on schedule.

Enhanced Communication: An in-app chat feature to promote efficient communication between team members. A dedicated client app allows clients to track progress, upload design files, and approve selections in real-time, fostering transparency and minimizing misunderstandings.

Secure Online Signatures: Integration with DocuSign enables secure and efficient online signing of contracts and approvals, eliminating the need for paper documents and speeding up the project lifecycle.
